A first flight of Air France’s Airbus A340 between Paris and Phnom Penh touches down at Phnom Penh International Airport on March 31 after a 37-year hiatus on flight connection between the two nations when the Khmer Rouge came to power in 1975. Cambodian DeputyPrime Minister and Minister in Charge of the Office of the Council of Ministers and H.E Thierry Mariana, Secretary of State in Charge of Transportation of the Republic of France
preside over the welcoming ceremony upon the arrival at the airport. Air France will operate three regular flights per week and the company plans to replace in May the Airbus A340 with a Boeing 777, with a greater capacity.
