The judgment on appeals in Case 001 against Kaing Guek Eav alias Duch will be pronounced on Feb. 3 at 10 am, according to a press release of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC).

The Trial Chamber convicted Duch of crimes against humanity and grave breaches of the 1949 Geneva Conventions in a judgment handed down on 26 July 2010. He was sentenced to 35 years of imprisonment. The Accused, Co-Prosecutors, and Civil Parties Groups 1, 2, and 3 submitted appeals against the Trial Chamber Judgement, and Appeal hearings were held before the Supreme Court Chamber from 28-30 March 2011.
