Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Tea Banh, Minister of National Defense, hoped that Cambodian-Thai General Border Committee (GBC) Meeting would take place in December after a long wait due to the armed clashes between the two countries.
DPM H.E. Tea Banh told this to reporters before leaving Phnom Penh International Airport yesterday for Malaysia.
Besides seeking to end the border dispute between the two nations for more than three years, he said, the meeting will discuss the details of implementing the International Court of Justice’s order and the deployment of Indonesian observers to monitor the border area near Preah Vihear Temple.
DPM H.E. Tea Banh led Cambodia’s National Defense delegation to Langkawi Island, Malaysia, where he will attend the International Maritime and Aerospace Exhibition organized by the Malaysian Ministry of National Defense from Dec. 6 through 10.
