His Majesty Norodom Sihamoni, King of Cambodia, yesterday sent a letter of condolences to H.E. Benigno S. Aquino III, President of the Republic of the Philippines after the tropical storm hit across the southern Philippines.
“I was sad to learn of the heavy loss of life and the extent of damages caused by tropical storm which raked across the southern Philippines, unleashing flash floods across vast areas in the island of Mindanao,” said the Cambodian monarch.
“In these painful circumstances, on behalf of the people of Cambodia, I would like to extend to Your Excellency and the Filipino people, in particular to the bereaved families and those who have been injured, our deepest condolences and sympathies,” he said.
“The Cambodian people share the sufferings of the Filipino people and we express our best wishes for the complete success of the heroic work of rehabilitation of the areas affected by these calamities. We also wish a speedy recovery for the injured,” King Sihamoni said in the letter.
