Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen this morning said the country’s economic growth would reach 7 percent in 2011.
Speaking at a graduation ceremony at the National Institute of Education, Samdech Techo Hun Sen said even though the agricultural sector has zero growth due to the recent devastating floods, Cambodia will be able to achieve its economic growth at around 7 percent.
Before we forecasted our growth at just 6.4 percent, then the World Bank at 6 percent, the Asian Development Bank at 6.8 percent, and the International Monetary Fund at 7.5 percent, Samdech Techo Hun Sen recalled.
Despite growth in the fields of garment export, tourism and construction, we have to be careful with inflation, Samdech Techo said, stressing that the inflation rate is hight in our neighboring countries, especially in Vietnam, which is at 18 percent.
