Prime Minister Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen said “Day of Dec. 2” marked the three historical, significant milestones in bringing out peace and national development in Cambodia.

The Cambodian prime minister said this, while presiding over a groundbreaking ceremony for asphalted road construction held yesterday in Bakan district, Pursat province.
He considered the “Day of Dec. 2″ as the birth of the United Front for National Salvation of Kampuchea, elaborating on sequences of the event, that is, the first is the collapse of Pol Pot genocidal regime; the second is the resolution to peace and national unification at Fères-en-Tardenor in France; the third is the setting out of the triangle strategy, the end of military and political organizations of Khmer Rouge along with promoting peace in the country, the integration into the region and the world, and the promotion of socio-economic development.
Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, honorary president of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP) who is also chairman of the National Council of the United Front, will preside over a meeting to commemorate the 33rd anniversary of the founding of the United Front for the National Salvation of Kampuchea in 1978 in Snuol district, Kratie province.
On the occasion, a construction site for memorial monument will be opened.
