DPM Hor Namhong Receives New Portuguese Ambassador PDF Print E-mail

Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H.E. Hor Namhong received on Tuesday newly-appointed Ambassador of Portugal to Cambodia H.E. Jorge Ryder Torres Pereira.

In the meeting, H.E. Hor Namhong warmly welcomed the diplomatic mission’s of H.E. Jorge Ryder Torres Pereira to Cambodia, through which he said the ties of friendship, the solidarity and the cooperation between the two countries will be further strengthened.

He further thanked the Portuguese government for having pledged to support Cambodia’s candidacy as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council for 2013-2014.

He also informed the Bangkok-based Portuguese ambassador of the ongoing Cambodia-Thailand border dispute.

For his part, H.E. Jorge Ryder Torres Pereira said he is delighted to fulfill his mission in Cambodia and he has noted the country’s rapid development. In 2012, the cooperation between ASEAN and EU will be further promoted, thus there will be an economic as well as investment development in Cambodia, he added.
