Pakistan will support Cambodia’s candidacy as a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council (UNSC) for 2013-2014, affirmed here yesterday outgoing Ambassador of Pakistan to Cambodia H.E. Mohammed Younis Khan.

During a meeting with Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H.E. Hor Namhong, the Pakistani diplomat also expressed deep thanks to the Royal Government of Cambodia for its support for the success of his mission and for its contribution to help the victims of flood and earthquake in Pakistan, Undersecretary of State and Spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation H.E. Koy Kuong told reporters after the meeting.

In reply, the Cambodian deputy prime minister highly valued H.E. Mohammed Younis Khan’s diplomatic mission in Cambodia, which he said, has contributed to further strengthening the relationship and cooperation between the two countries.

He also thanked Pakistan for providing short-term scholarships to Cambodian students and urged both countries to further promote their trade exchange.
